We regret to inform you that the U of C Jujitsu Club will NOT be holding practices until further notice.
If you are still interested in learning jujitsu, we recommend Midway Kodenkan, located on Ashland near Midway Airport. Additionally, there are many other martial arts clubs afiliated with the University of Chicago. A list may be found on the Club Sports page.
If you are interested in getting this club up and running again, contact Nathan Yurko at nyurko at uchicago dot edu, or talk to Jose at Midway Kodenkan.
Information about what the U of C Jujitsu Club used to do:
Welcome to the Jujitsu Club at the University of Chicago. We practice Danzan Ryu Jujitsu and are afiliated with the American Judo and Jujitsu Federation. In addition to teaching at our club, our instructors run their own dojo, Midway Kodenkan.
Our club is open to students, faculty, staff, and alumni of the University of Chicago and the spouses of any of these. Unfortunately we are not open to University affiliates including hospital staff. If you do not meet these criteria and are still interested in jujitsu, we recommend Midway Kodenkan.
We welcome new students at any time, so feel free to drop in on one of our practices and check it out. Please see our How to Join page and subscribe to our listhost.
